Questions
What is an FBO?
A fixed-base operator: the private terminal at an airport. It handles check-in, lounges, parking and refuelling for private flights, and often customs too.
Are private airports different from normal airports?
Sometimes. Some airports are mainly business aviation, such as Le Bourget, Teterboro or Farnborough. Others are major airline airports with a separate private terminal, such as Brussels or Schiphol.
Why does the runway matter?
Short runways limit which jets can land, or how far they can fly with a full load. Antwerp (1,510 m) suits light and midsize jets; Liège (3,690 m) takes any business jet.
