Good to know
Official RBC page lists four airline conversion partners (AAdvantage 10:7, WestJet 1:1, British Airways Club 1:1, Cathay 1:1). Minimum 1,000, 5,000 or 10,000 Avion points depending on partner (Prince of Travel, May 2023: 10,000 for Avios and Asia Miles, 5,000 for AAdvantage, 1,000 for WestJet). RBC says allow up to 4 weeks; conversions are irreversible. No conversion fee or cap is published. Tiers: Avion Elite (RBC Avion Visa Platinum, Visa Infinite, Visa Infinite Privilege, Visa Business, Visa Infinite Business) gets all partners. Avion Premium (RBC ION / ION+ and some bank products) is restricted. Milesopedia (updated 2026-10-26) contradicts itself: its body text says WestJet only, while its table and FAQ also list Avios and AAdvantage. Cathay is Elite-only in every version. Avion Select (free sign-up) has no partners. Frugal Flyer (2026-09-22): holding any card with 'Avion' in its name lets all your Avion points convert as Elite. Points move 1:1 between linked membership levels (Milesopedia). Ratios are the same for Elite and Premium where Premium has access; Elite and Premium differ only in partner access. RBC runs periodic transfer bonuses, e.g. a 30% bonus to Avios that ended 2026-06-19 (NerdWallet). WestJet Rewards now uses points: the official page says 1 Avion point = 1 WestJet point (older sources say 100 Avion = 1 WestJet dollar, equivalent value).

- Hudson's Bay Rewards. Prince of Travel (2023) listed it at 1:2 (minimum 500). Hudson's Bay paused its rewards programme in March 2025 when it entered creditor protection (Rewards Canada, 2025-03-11), and the 2026 RBC conversion page no longer lists it. RBC's exact removal date was not found. A NerdWallet page dated 2026-03-27 still mentioned it, which looks stale.
