Amex Australia does not publish ratios without login: its public travel-partner page is JavaScript-rendered and says the rates shown are for Membership Rewards Ascent and may differ by card. Ratios below are therefore Ascent rates from Point Hacks (Ascent table, Sept 2026) and Australian Frequent Flyer, cross-checked against partner-side pages where available (Velocity, ALL Accor). Tiers: Ascent Premium (Platinum Charge, Centurion; Qantas access), Ascent (Platinum Edge, Gold Business and others; no Qantas), Business Ascent (business cards), Gateway (Explorer, Essential Rewards). The Amex rewards page footnote says Qantas is only available in Business Ascent and Ascent Premium, and Virgin Atlantic is not available in Gateway. AFF (2024, page updated March 2026) says Virgin Atlantic was added to Gateway at 3:1. That is a conflict, unresolved. Gateway ratios after the December 2025 devaluation are not published separately, except Velocity (2:1, per Velocity's own page). Big change on 15 Dec 2025: BA, Cathay, Malaysia, Qatar, Virgin Atlantic (and Etihad) went from 2:1 to 3:1, Emirates from 3:1 to 4:1, Thai was removed and Everyday Rewards was added. Point Hacks says the revised airline rates do not apply to Business Ascent or Corporate programs. Accor was added on 28/29 Apr 2026 and Etihad was removed on 23 Jun 2026. The Membership Rewards annual program fee applies on some cards (official options page: $80 Ascent on non-Platinum cards, included with Platinum). On 2 Nov 2026 the official MR page says Marriott transfers are temporarily unavailable. New MR Terms and Conditions take effect on 9 Nov 2026. Their content was not reviewed here, and as of Oct 2026 Point Hacks reports no announced changes to transfer rates.

- Etihad Guest. AFF: from 23 June 2026 you can no longer transfer to Etihad Guest (was 3:1 after Dec 2025). Points Advisor still listed it in April 2026. Part of Etihad's global withdrawal from Amex MR (UK 22 Jun, US 30 Jun 2026).
- Thai Airways Royal Orchid Plus. Removed on 15 Dec 2025; the last 2:1 transfers were on 14 Dec 2025 (Point Hacks, AFF).
