Each night is one search on Google Hotels for "hotels on the Las Vegas Strip", 2 adults, 1 night. We take the lowest rate shown for each 3-star-plus hotel (vacation rentals out), before taxes and resort fees, and report the median. The baseline is the average of 3 quiet midweek nights ($87).
What each number is
- Typical room: the median of the lowest nightly rate shown for each 3-star-plus hotel (vacation rentals excluded), before taxes and resort fees. About 15 hotels are priced per night.
- vs quiet night: that median divided by the baseline: the average of Wednesday, 11 November 2026, Wednesday, 16 December 2026, Wednesday, 10 February 2027 ($87), midweek nights with no convention over 5,000 attendees.
- What's on: conventions with 5,000+ estimated attendees from the LVCVA convention calendar, plus Formula 1, the National Finals Rodeo and holidays.
Where it can mislead
- Sold-out nights read low. When the dearest hotels sell out they drop off Google's list, and the median falls. The Formula 1 race night and the first night of AWS re:Invent are marked for this and left out of the headline answers.
- A sample, not every night. 14 nights are checked: the big event nights and quiet nights to compare. Nights in between aren't priced.
- Before taxes and resort fees. Strip resort fees add about $40–55 a night and hotel tax 13.38%; both apply on quiet and peak nights alike, so the ratios hold.
- One moment in time. Every price was checked on 7 November 2026. Rates for far-off nights usually rise as the date gets closer.
