Points or cash in Las Vegas
Peak nights are where hotel points go furthest.
When a night costs two to three and a half times normal, a fixed or capped award price is worth far more than usual, so spend points there and pay cash for the quiet nights. Programs that price awards dynamically raise the points price with the cash price, so check the award against the cash rate before you book. MGM and Caesars rooms book through their own programs; hotel points or cash has what each program's points are worth.
